How can I stop daughter's dummy habit?
Q. MY six-year-old daughter still sucks a dummy. I have tried everything to get her to stop. She goes to sleep with one in her mouth and hand every night. I know I should have stopped it years ago but now she is six she throws tantrums when I even suggest it. How can I get her to give them up?
A. SUCKING thumbs and dummies brings comfort and a feeling of security to thousands of babies and young children around the world.

As your daughter is old enough to understand what is happening, then honesty and clarity is the best approach.
Explain that she is too old for a dummy and that it is time she gave them up. Make sure she understands that you are determined to see this through.
