Mudcats pick up two victories at Rosco Tournament

June 12--The Bemidji Mudcats enjoyed their finest day of their young season Saturday, sweeping a pair of games at the 11th annual Rosco Invitational.

The Cats rallied to beat Felton 4-2 in their opener, then shaded Albertville 1-0 in their second start.

The meet was contested under a revised format with the late withdrawal of Blackduck which was unable to field a team.

The Blue Ox, normally an instant replacement, had games scheduled Thursday, Saturday and Monday and was unable to do so.

With teams guaranteed three games, the revised format left four of the five meeting that total.

Bemidji became the odd man out and played only two.

Mayville blanked defending champion Ada 10-0 in the second game. Felton faced Mayville in the late Saturday game.

Three more will be played today at 10:30, 12:30 and 2:30.

The Cats' next game will be Friday, an Arrowhead League game with Nashwauk at BSU.

Rally to win

The Mudcats rallied to take the opener, scoring all four runs in the fifth inning after being held to two hits until that point.

Righthander Kal Dingman struggled through the first four frames bothered more y his own wildness than the Bees bats.

But once ahead, he retired the final seven batters he faced and Doug Peterson worked a perfect seventh.

Only one of the two Felton runs was earned.

Dingman obeyed a primary rule of pitching, retiring the first batter every inning.

He did so in all six of his six frames.

But he allowed the next two to reach base in the first four to be in constant trouble.

He survived two walks in the first.

In the second, two hit batters around an infield single filled the bases and a walk forced in the first run.

A dropped fly ball with one gone in the third was followed by a walk, hit batter and fielder's choice to plate the unearned run.

A walk and single went to waste in the fourth.

Until the fifth, the Cats had shown little, having one runner thrown out in the second trying to steal third and another stranded at second in the fourth after a walk and wild pitch.

But in the fifth, Bemidji combined three of its five hits off righthander Jordan Solie with three walks and a hit batter to win.

Derek Edholm singled and Kevin Murphy looped a single over first.

They advanced on Matt Hietala's sacrifice and Edholm scored on a s ground out.

Brad Johnson walked and Tony Klaers singled home Murphy, tying the score at 2-2.

Blue Ox Base Plate Installation - 2004 Jeep Liberty Video ...

Today on a 2004 Jeep Liberty we will be installing Blue Ox part number BX1119. For the ease of video tapping, we have gone ahead and raised the vehicle and removed the front tires. This is not a requirement for this procedure but it can make it easier when accessing the inner fender wells. Our first step is going to be to remove our front grill. We will need to remove the four cork spits that go across the top. Alright, now that we have our four screws removed off of the top we can go ahead and remove our front grill. We are going to set that off to the side until we can reinstall it later. Next we are going to remove our wiring connecter here from the front fascia. This will make it easier when we remove our front fascia later on. Simply put a little downward pressure on the tab, push on your connector pin in the back to release and remove your connector. 1:08

Now what we are going to do is remove the pushpin tabs across the front fascia. There is one located here underneath the headlight bucket. Gently pry them out. Now that we have the six pushpins across the top removed, we are going to move to the inner fender well where we need to drill out some rivets. We will be drilling out three of the plastic rivets on the inner fender well. There is one here, here and here. Let us go ahead and do that now. Now we are going to go ahead and repeat that same process on the passenger side. Over here on the underside of the driver side, we have two more rivets to go ahead and drill out. Now that will free up our front bumper fascia from our fender. We are going to go ahead and repeat this same process on the passenger side. Now we have two bolts underneath the air dam and front bumper fascia we need to remove. 2:12

Next, there are three fasteners located here that hold the outer fender well to our front bumper fascia. We are going to need to gently remove these as we go. Now we are going to grab the underside of the air dam and gently pull the bumper fascia up, releasing it from its clips. Set that aside. We will install it later. Now that we have our front fascia out of the way, we need to remove the front bumper cups. Since we remove our frame cups here, we can install our side frame supports, oblong hole to the back. And they will line up with the manufacturer drilled holes so that we can mount up our base plate. We are going to repeat this same process on the passenger side. Before installing our bolts to hold down our base plate, we are going to apply a little of the red Loctite, part number LT37420. Just a little of this stuff will go a long way and this will help to secure our bolts to our weld nuts. Our bolt, fender washer and lock washer are going to come up from underneath the vehicle. And then we will use our weld nut on the top. At this time, we just want to get everything finger tight until we get all of our holes lined up.
