It just seems like we read story after story about how the county government can take a simple question / problem / needs and propose the most complicated. They continue to add on so many conditions (not near a church, school, bar, reading room, Christian Science, etc.) and so many regulations (both without any real value) that has enough power loops there to make it almost impossible to implement or regulate.

There is much truth in the paraphrase of Einstein when he said: Make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler.Legally, you are supposed to notify MPD that you intend to think with the gun, then put it in less than 48 hours of it entering the district.

Since then I have just seen. Strangely, I never even had a strange look of a cop while walking there with what is obviosuly a gun case. I did not say stupid. It is clearly ridiculous for someone to get a sweetheart deal by the government when they do not offer the same for all other companies.

By the way you need to learn something about the economy. there is a term you should know the term "excess profit" where a monopolist or where a market with high barriers to entry creates a profit which is out of line with expectations, unless there is a barrier to entry or some other manipulation of market to engender profits of that nature. I'd say being the only one getting to pay $100 rent is a barrier to entry.

I agree they should charge the prevailing market rate for rent but I won't bash the guy for getting the best deal he could.  The only reason this guy has a "monopoly" is because the "government" of D.C. would rather be Tyrants than people of freedom.
